Acne is a common and chronic skin disease. It is an inflammatory condition of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles. It mostly occurs on the face, neck, chest, upper back or shoulders. Nearly six out of ten young people between the ages of twelve and twenty-four suffer from some degree of acne.

1. Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is found very affective in getting rid off acne. Apply aloe vera pulp on the affected area (acne) twice a day.

2. Orange Peel: Orange peel also has been found very effective in treating acne. Grind orange peel with water into a paste. Apply the paste on affected area & wash it off after 15-20 minutes.

3. Garlic: Garlic has been used successfully in the treatment of acne. Even persistent forms of acne have been healed with this herb. Apply raw garlic juice on affected area. Also eating three pods of raw garlic once daily for a month would make acne disappear.

4. Cucumber: Cucumber is also very useful remedy for treating acne. Apply cucumber paste on your face. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with lukewarm water.

Do’s and Don’ts To Get Rid Off Acne

  • Sometimes constipation is the main cause of acne. Treat it immediately, if you have.

  • When choosing make-up, you should be sure to choose water-based, oil-free cosmetics. So always use water-based, oil-free cosmetics.

  • Keep your skin always clean by washing with very mild soaps and lukewarm water.

  • Wash your face 2 times a day with an oil-free face wash.

  • Change your towel every day. Bacteria can grow on damp cloth.

  • Wash your hands often. It's a good idea not to touch your face.Don't rest your face on your hands while you study, read, or watch TV.

  • Shampoo your hair at least twice a week. Pull your hair away from your face when you sleep. Style it away from your face during the day.

  • Drink lots of water. About 12-15 glasses water daily.

  • Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

  • Take B-complex and zinc supplements daily. This is really necessary for treating acne affectively.

  • Do not try to prick and peel the acne as this can leave permanent marks on the face.

  • Avoid putting any oily or greasy substances on your face.Oily and greasy substances make acne worse by blocking the glands.If you must use cover-up cosmetics, use water-based cosmetics and wash them off at bedtime.

  • Avoid hair tonics or hair creams(especially greasy ones.When you sweat these substances will spread to your cafe and aggravate the acne.Try to keep your hair clean.

  • If certain foods seem to make your acne worse, do not eat those foods.

  • Avoid working in hot kitchens where greasy foods are cooked.Also, avoid getting sunburn.

  • Avoid stress as much as possible.
